TESOL was the first of my two programs, and is how I discovered my passion for digitally enhanced instruction.

Instructional Design Classwork

I took a total of eight classes in this program due to transfer credits from my previous degree. The classes I list here are the most relevant to ID - unmentioned are those such as Educational Psychology and ID Theories & Models, which while extremely beneficial, did not consist of a major ID-related project.

I acquired a 4.0 GPA at the end of my two semesters.

Major Project

Instructional Design Designed a full document for a two-day workshop (How to Use WordPress for the ESL Classroom in Support of Collaborative Writing) following all steps of the ADDIE model.
Multimedia Learning Created a media-heavy unit utilizing various Multimedia Principles, more specifically personalization and guided discovery learning, with the presence of a WebQuest and a simulation game.
Distance Learning Drafted a proposal for an online course regarding Advanced TOEFL Vocabulary for ESL students, with the inclusion of assessment-based transitions from one unit to the next.
Program Evaluation Wrote a thorough evaluation on a program existing within my university regarding librarian and English faculty collaboration in the creation of digitally-enhanced classes.
IDT Authoring Systems Built an online unit for High School health science students on Type 2 Diabetes using UDUTU.
Other classes included ID Theories and Models, Social Network Media, and Educational Psychology.

TESOL Classwork

The TESOL program I attended was heavily research based, and taught me various pedagogical techniques in addition to theoretical knowledge regarding instruction and discourse as it pertains to various situations. There are a few classes I'd like to mention which made a profound impact on my knowledge as an instructional designer.

I received a 3.9 GPA at the end of my two years.

Major Project

Computer Assisted Language Learning Built an online learning unit for ESL students regarding the brain. Although not an ID class, the audience and content had to be thoroughly analyzed, in addition to the instructional methods involved, which included pre-reading and post-reading assignments in addition to collaborative writing with blogs and wikis.
Language Assessment Designed a pilot test to be taken through the process of transforming into a finalized assessment, complete with a Table of Speficiations and validity, reliability, and p-value measurements through Item Analysis.
